Thelma and Stuart at the top of Pikes Peak. It was so high there that Thelma's feet didn't even reach the ground!

Although it was pretty cloudy at 14,110 feet on the day we were there, there was a break in the clouds enough to see the plains of Colorado stretch out to the east of Pikes Peak.
There is a 19-mile toll road, paved part of the way, so that folks can drive to the top of Pikes Peak. We had a wonderful ride to the top (see next picture)...
...on the Pikes Peak Cog Railway. This ride was very entertaining and considerably less stressful than riding street bikes on a dirt road along the side of a mountain.
