San Juan Islands

Sunrise San Juans San Juans

Just north of Seattle and Puget Sound are the San Juan Islands of Washington State. Located between Vancouver Island in Canada and the mainland of Washington, these islands are easily reached by ferry from either the U.S or Canada. The best views of the San Juans from a distance are along Chuckanut Drive just south of Bellingham in Washington. Views along the various waterfronts of the San Juan Islands and nearby Deception Pass are sometimes tranquil, but can change rapidly depending on tides and weather fronts. The largest of the San Juans is Orcas Island, and the views from its Mt Constitution are certainly impressive.
