Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is a stunning walled city on the Adriatic seacoast in the extreme south of Croatia. Although its population barely exceeds 40,000, it's one of the most prominent tourist resorts of the Mediterranean and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.

Dubrovnik
Here we are ready to walk down to the old town and explore. It was one of the rare days of rain that we had on this trip. And it stopped raining while we walked the city wall!

This is Stradun, the main street of old town Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik's Old Town is completely surrounded by enormous stone walls that date back to the 10th century. Up to 19ft thick and 82ft high in places, Dubrovnik's ancient city walls were built to protect the city and deter would-be invaders. On the right you can see people walking on top of the walls.
