On our way to the Dolomites:
Lake Como, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe, is only about 25 miles north of Milan. It has a deserved reputation as a playground of the rich and famous. George Clooney is one of several famous folks that own, or have owned, a villa on the lake.
Lake Como has a ferry service that is a highly developed public transport system linking the many small towns around the Lake. We barely made it in time to take this ferry leaving the little village of Bellagio. One problem, this ferry was going to the west shore of the lake and we needed to go to the east shore.
We took this picture looking north while on another ferry taking us where we intended to go in the first place, the east side of the lake.
