The old town part of Zadar is crowded onto a thumb of land jutting northwest into the sea.
We hired this water taxi to take us across the harbor to Zadar's old town. The boatman's family has rowed folks across the harbor for centuries.

Sunset viewing from the peninsula of Zadar's old town is a very popular event. There were probably 200 people here on this night. There is an organ, named the Sea Organ, made of pipes built under the sidewalk and powered by the sea waves, producing melodic music. Very pleasant.
When the sun finally set behind the outer islands, the entire crowd applauded. Quite an experience.
