Perhaps our favorite castle stay was slightly off the Romantic Road at Burg Colmberg.There are more castles and outstanding ancient villages along the highway that takes us back toward Munich and aptly called the Romantic Road.

Rottenburg ob der Tauber is a medieval walled city that is simply a beautiful preservation of historical Germany.
Dinkelsbuhl, an historic village along the Romantic Road, made a great last stop on our trek back to Munich.
