Cangas de Onis was our home base for three nights while we explored the Picos de Europa with its beautiful and rugged peaks. These mountains are their own weather-makers and in our case dished out rain every day at 2:00PM. Even so, the mountains were wonderful, the roads were wonderful, the extensive canyons were wonderful, the lakes were wonderful, and, yes, there was another wonderful Cathedral in Covadonga! 
Our last stay in Spain was in the old world village of Santillana del Mar on the northern coast, near Santander. We stayed in another four star hotel, the Parador Gil Blas, parked the motorcycles, and enjoyed two days exploring the cobblestone streets of this little village.
