There are lots of mountains in Portugal, some little and some not so little. The Serra Da Estrela is the largest mountain range in Portugal and is home to Parque Natural Da Serra Da Estrela. The landscape is quite striking and is marked by rocky outcrops, boulders and crags.
Picturesque river valleys abound in Portugal. The best known all over the world is the Douro River Valley. Besides its beauty, the Douro is most notable for the grapes grown on its terraced hillsides that produce the famous Port wine of Portugal.
All of Portugalís coastline is along the Atlantic Ocean and is especially rugged in the southwest. Our only encounter with the coast in Spain was the Mediterranean Sea at Malaga. All of it was beautiful.
