Vienna is the capital and largest city of Austria, with a population of about 1.8 million. We rode directly to, and stayed in, the historic center of Vienna. In one day and two nights we explored only a portion of the Innere Stadt, a UNESCO World Heritage Center.
Saint Stephen's Cathedral, Stephansdom, is a world renowned landmark of Vienna.
The Hofburg, Vienna's former Imperial Palace, was for centuries the seat of the Habsburgs, rulers of Austria until the end of WWI.
Since the 16th century, Vienna has been universally acknowledged as the musical capital of Europe.
A walking tour around the Innere Stadt turned up some interesting sights.
